Nanaymo is a hostel offering specialty coffee created by Chris and Rachelle. Our aim is to create a chilled accommodation for travelers and locals alike with great coffee to go with it.
Hostel will cater affordable accommodation from dorms to private rooms. Design, utilization and engineering of each room and beds are carefully considered by the owners using their own experience to bring more space and privacy for those who stay while trying to accommodate disabilities into our facility i.e rooms, entrance etc.
The meaning of specialty in simple terms is we treat our Coffee seriously by using credible equipment ,products and producers in the industry along with experience and well trained Baristi but this also passed along to the hostel side of things by using local suppliers from renovation to artist and all the other things that go into a hostel.
We offer small personal barista basic training 1.5hrs so Baristi can understand the knowledge and role of a barista.
We care about the taste of every coffee and satisfaction of everyone that passes through Nanaymo.

Rachelle Eve Jaira
"I grew up in Manila, Philippines. I graduated Tourism Management in 2011 had a job for two years and decided to move to Dubai. I worked in an architectural company for my first two years, working for the finance and admin department. My experience with the company made me realize that I am into architecture and designing. However, I continued working in the same field for two years more and made a decision to go back to my home country and help set up Nanaymo."
Chris Maile
"Born in Hammersmith, London. I became a barista in 2007/8 when as a punishment for lateness I was sent from hospitality to the Coffee bar and that's when I started to become interested in Coffee, through the tutelage of Giorgio who was an italian born Barista in London, under Giorgio I learnt the basics that I still use to this day,they were, taste the espresso, keep your area clean and steaming of milk(back then you poured an Apple instead of a heart). It was 2012 when I came across specialty coffee, after lots of learning I became the head barista and trainer of one of the top coffee shop in London (Artisan) then while working full time I found time to work for an events company that would send me around UK and europe. By 2015 I left London to start traveling and test myself, I first lived and worked in New Zealand for a year then moved to Dubai to be a Head Barista @Nightjar Coffee. I stayed in Dubai for two years and made the move forward to Philippines to establish Nanaymo."
Chris & Rachelle's Story
"Our story is unexpected and surprising. We met on Tinder early 2017, dated a couple of months ended up in a relationship and now we're getting married. We're completely different with each other, you can just tell it by our previous jobs and interests.However, we managed to get along so well that we would do things mostly with each other It seems fast to people since we were just together for one year and eight months but we never doubted the direction that we're heading to. Apart from that, we had a sudden decision to leave Dubai to create our dreams into one. We are looking to build this magnificent place that would cater our skills and expertise that we wanted to share to everyone."
